Hello friends,
Some of you know me for writing romance that leans hopeful, queer, and character-driven. Others know my work for its emotional intensity and sharp edges. Over the years, I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to darker stories—stories that explore power, captivity, desire, faith, and the dangerous spaces where love and control can blur.
Because of that, I’ve launched a new series under a new pen name: Julia K. Wolf.
Julia K. Wolf is still me—but this name is reserved specifically for dark romantasy: slow-burn stories set in beautiful, cruel worlds, where romance unfolds gradually and nothing comes without a cost. The tone is heavier, the themes are darker, and reader expectations matter. Creating a separate pen name allows me to be clear about that from the very first page.
The first book in this new series, Stolen Light, is now available.
If you enjoy:
-
slow-burn romance
-
morally complex characters
-
fae courts and dangerous bargains
-
stories where safety and love are not the same thing
…then this series may be for you.
If dark themes aren’t what you’re looking for right now, that’s completely okay. My other work isn’t going anywhere—and I’ll always do my best to clearly label what kind of story I’m sharing.
Thank you, as always, for reading, for trusting me with your time, and for following me into new territory when it calls.
All My Love,
Kaye Draper
(writing dark romantasy as Julia K. Wolf)
